Camp Merriwood.
I had the pleasure of spending my college years working and growing at this camp. Those seasons shaped so much of who I am today and taught me lessons that still guide my work. Coming back to refine the Merriwood brand felt deeply meaningful, like a full-circle moment and a chance to give back to a place that helped shape me.

Rooted in Heritage, Reimagined for Tomorrow
I led the rebrand for Merriwood with the goal of evolving an iconic brand into the future while keeping its roots firmly grounded. The process began with research and discovery, diving into Merriwood’s history, audience, and visual legacy to understand what made it so recognizable and loved. From there, I developed a refreshed brand system that balanced modern design with classic familiarity. This included updated typography, a more versatile color palette, and a logo refinement that honored the original mark while improving its clarity and adaptability. Every decision was guided by the idea of preserving authenticity while opening the door to new possibilities. The result is a cohesive identity that feels both enduring and forward-looking—a true reflection of Merriwood’s past, present, and future.
Foundation For Growth
When I began the rebrand, one of Merriwood’s biggest challenges was a lack of consistency. Over the years, small logo tweaks and unaligned design choices had diluted their visual identity. My goal was to bring clarity and cohesion back to the brand while preserving the warmth and familiarity that people associate with Merriwood.
The process started with an audit of existing materials to understand how the brand had evolved and where inconsistencies existed. From there, I refined the logo system, established a unified color palette and typography hierarchy, and developed a detailed brand guide to ensure visual harmony across every touchpoint. The result is a timeless and flexible identity system that honors Merriwood’s heritage while creating a strong foundation for its future growth.
Having the the chance to rebrand Camp Merriwood was such an honor.
I’ve learned so much from Camp Merriwood over the years while working there, and even more through the opportunity to rebrand them. It’s not every day you get the chance to give back to a place that helped shape who you are. I’ll close by saying: if you ever get the chance to go to camp—GO!
